Upcoming Paper Jam: The Psychology of Software Teams, Part 2

Paper Jam #22 finishes the book club we started last month. In session #21 we discussed the first four chapters of The Psychology of Software Teams by Cat Hicks. Now we take on the remaining three, which move from the individual and the team to the organization around them.

These are the chapters for this session:

  1. Conflict or Coalitions?
  2. Becoming an Organization That Wants to Understand Itself
  3. Fighting Dirty for Good Culture

We'll be meeting on Friday, October 23 at 1pm UTC.

As with part one, there's no PDF to download: you'll need a copy of the book, print or ebook. If you missed the first session, you're still welcome as a contributor — or, if you're more comfortable with that, as a listener.

Paper Jams is a monthly one-hour video call where a small group discusses research on the human factors of making software — usually an academic paper, this time a book. We follow the Chatham House Rule, and the conversation goes wherever the group takes it.

Interested? Subscribe to Paper Jams to get invited to the call.
